Managing elements
Handling of all elements - pages, sections and items - is done in the same way. Buttons for handling pages are shown in the menu bar. Buttons for sections are shown next to each section on the right side of your browser window, with a light blue background. Buttons for handling items are shown at the top of each item, with a light green background color.
Adding
Click on the + button. A new element is inserted after the current one. When adding a page you need to enter a name for the new page. Keep it short and do not use spaces or special characters.
Moving
If the element is not already at one end of parent, the arrow buttons allow moving an left/up or right/down.
Deleting
Click on the trashcan symbol to delete an element. After confirming, the element and all its children are deleted. Note that there is no undo for this action.
More settings
The tools icon in the navigation bar and the calendar icons in other toolbars open further options for the selected item. You can set a start and/or end date for the item. This allows you to create an item before the date on which you want it to become visible. Also, you can make an item disappear automatically by setting an end date.
For pages you can also change the name as it appears in the menu. This also changes the file name so your direct links will reflect the new page name as well.
Start and end dates
Every element (page, section, item) has optional start and end dates. Setting a start date allows you to edit a page without making it visible immediately. This allows you to prepare the page and set a launch date for it. Setting an end date makes the page invisible on that date.
These options enable you to keep your website up to date without having to think about it during the final preparations for or the wind-down days after an event. After all, a website with premature or outdated information gives a very bad impression to the visitors.
Changing page names
When opening the page settings, the dialog allows you to rename the menu entry and page filename. All internal links will also change. Make sure to choose a short name and do not use spaces or special characters.
